The Big (Wake Up) Donor Show

Leonie K.G. (aka “Lisa” in the Big Donor Show), please don’t do this ever again… When I saw her on the “The Big Donor Show”, I was shocked… It couldn’t be true, could it…? Your role was brilliant, good enough for me to not to see that it wasn’t real. Triggered by a phone call from my old friend Peter, I was really startled when I saw you on the television. “Lisa, the terminally ill woman who was giving away her kidney as a grand prize…”

I heard about the show and in principle I stood for what they (BNN) tried to achieve, despite the shock effect. All in all, I am happy that we still can meet with our old friends in the east part of Holland and will be able to drink some beers…

The scheme was brilliant. Of course this kind of action shakes everyone. With all the bullshit shows out there nowadays, you never know, if this one, the next step in “Television History”. I am already, for years, by the way a donor. It’s for a good cause, so why not.

It is still beyond me, why not more people take action and do something. Why don’t the governments support donor ship more. It is really shocking if you read the figures.

In Holland 1088 people are waiting for a kidney that will improve their lifes. They have to wait for 4 years…at least, if they survive that long…
