Trying To Break the Romanian Wall

The Romanian played as expected, via a strong defensive, trying to counter. They hadn’t really a good chance in the first half and the moment they had to score, Italy made their first goal via a penalty against France. Romania lost the initiative in the second half so the Dutch bench players had the possibility to be dangerous near the box. The Dutch supporters didn’t have to wait; Huntelaar made his first goal during EURO 2008: 1 – 0.

A few minutes later, Henry (his last big championship?) made a very unlucky goal for Italy. Italy – France: 2 – 0. From that moment on the Romanian soccer players lost the initiative overall. The Dutch changed a lot of their base players (in the end apparently 9 changes overall) and made some serious defensive errors, which luckily, the Romanians didn’t use in their advance. Van Persie showed his class in the end of the match. Holland – Romania: 2 – 0.

I guess the French deserved better, although this evening was a good one regarding my DB Tournament score (but also no surprises for my fellow AMIS bet colleagues)
