RMAN Recipes for Oracle Database 11g: A Problem-Solution Approach

Ahhh, this is just a great book.

In the last 1 1/2 months I was wrestling with the most stupid recovery scenario’s in a long time. Not because I didn’t set up all things properly, but because over time things changed and therefore recovery scenario’s set-up weren’t applicable anymore. If I had a book at my side like “RMAN Recipes for Oracle Database 11g: A Problem-Solution Approach” then things would have been easier.

The book has “only” recipes, but if you know your stuff around working with RMAN then it could support you if you are searching for restore and backup scenarios. Only strolling around the book, it already gave me quick and proper answers on future solutions. It is not a “silver bullet book” as long as you don’t know you theory. If you need the proper base for that, start with the standard backup and recovery RMAN manuals, those can be found on OTN

This one is definitely in the charts for becoming a classic…

Darl, Sam Arup… You guys did a great job!
