My Schedule for Oracle Open World

Oracle Open World is near and I, more or less, finalized my schedule for Oracle Open World now. With the help of Doug’s schedule and from others, I filled in some blanks on Wednesday and Thursday.

I also saw that my session on Sunday, “Oracle XML DB: Building Blocks and Best Practices” and is almost full.

Oracle XML DB: Building Blocks and Best Practices

Marco Gralike

My session on Wednesday with practical guidelines concerning working within the Oracle XMLDB boundaries, has still some seats available.

Tuesday, Sep 23

14:30-15:30

Real-World Experience with Oracle XML Database 11g: An Oracle ACE’s Perspective

Marco Gralike

Speaking about “Full“. Geoff Lee (Oracle)’s hands-on training sessions for “structured” storage are almost full and the hands-on training for “unstructured” have also only a few seats left. Be aware these are two different hands-on labs. One is dealing with Object Relational storage, the other one with (amongst others) binary XML storage structures…

An overview of all XMLDB related Oracle Open World sessions can be found on the following link: OTN XMLDB Forum OOW

I try to keep it updated… For instance, I added also the “Unconference” and “Oracle Mix Winners” related content.

I hereby also want to recommend (again) Mark’s presentation on Wednesday. It also has some seats available.

Mark’s presentation is high on my list, not only because its Mark’s, but also to see how APEX can easily be extended in its wealthy functionality, while making some XMLDB features directly available.

Oracle Application Express and Oracle XML Database: A Match Made in the Database

Mark Drake

My Schedule – Oracle Open World

I am (and always will be) an Oracle DBA, so I had some trouble setting up my schedule for this years Oracle Open World.

Besides “XMLDB” and “Performance“, I also wanted to see some presentations dealing with topics like “Oracle Grid“, “Oracle VM“, if possible Oracle Enterprise Linux and/or Open Source. Not to mention, trying to see a glimpse of some presenters or peers like Chris Muir, Doug, Arup Nanda, Ken Jacobs, Wim Coekaerts or Graham Wood (just to name “some”…)

So in all, I had to make some very painful decisions…

Sunday

Starting on Sunday with my own presentation and after that trying to get some adrenaline out of my system via some Hands-on lab sessions from Geoff Lee and Tom Kyte’s Schema Design presentation. If the adrenaline still is peeking, then the Bloggers Meet-up should do the trick to chill out

Oracle Open World 2006?

2006 ?

Yep.

If I have learned something from Oracle Open World in 2006, is that I can not see everything I want and if I try anyway, that I will be really, really sorry and completely worn out…

So (I will) keep in mind… Enjoy !
